  1. Will the threadripper 2990wx have good performance when mining monero?
I'm looking forward to build one mining rig with a 2990wx to get EXTREME POWER cpu mining with cpuminer-multi.

  2. Your video was very educational. I still have a question though, what specification of a gpu or cpu is intensive for mining Monero?? Is it memory intensive like Etherium?

  3. So with 4 1080 ti,s 65430 MB 2133 ddr4 ,and the 1950 x …..have a 1900x with 65430 MB 2133 ddr4 with 4 1080 ti,s
    and and a I9 7900x with 2 1080 ti,s with 65430 MB . I run around $15.00 a day power and make $200 to $400 a day mining Gpu,s. So am i running like 10000 MW/h ???

  4. Honestly… do you want your machines all going Skynet on you? That's what they'll do if you bore the piss out of them currency mining. Give em fun fractals to crunch and they'll put in a good word for you when the robot overlords arrive.

  5. Know what pays more? Actually using your computer, and begging on the street-corner. I use mine to make trancy psychedelic videos for VJ's and musicians. They can't get enough.

  6. As the price of coins keep increasing or decreasing, so is the profitability of mining them. Both building mining rigs yourself to mine and buying cloud mining contracts are very profitable at the moment and will get you a pretty huge ROI. This is the perfect time to get into the mining scene and start building a steady income. Your ROI depends on the amount of coins you mine. I mine coins like BTC, BCH, LTC, ETH and ETC. 7. The upfront cost of a TR system and power draw would kill ROI time. Not to mention crypto values have been falling fast in the last week or two so it's a big gamble. I mean I guess if you like wasting your money!

  8. I currently mine with my R5 1600 overclocked to 3.6ghz with the included cooler. Currently runs at 358 hash rate with temps right at 57c. Nice and easy. Mining doesn’t use threads. It only uses the physical cores, so it doesn’t work as hard as say a benchmark or other programs that utilize that. Brings in close to a dollar a day

  9. cost of monero hit 400-500 dollars not too long ago. not sure when you ran your calculation but the cost of monero could be tripple if not more in a year. as of now the price is around 180

  10. Glad to see videos dealing with already owned assets and how to put them to use. This also could be used for charitable donations, kids college fund, mistress (strike that . . .). Anyways a very good video.

  11. The biggest difference is that you can use parallel gpu mining, which will give you a lot of mining power. And you can use only one cpu. There are boards for 4 xeon cpus, but as far as i know, no more than one cpu. So its a cool idea, only as idea. Good video btw.

  12. I want a 1070ti and I can't find one. Well for any reasonable price. It's sad when some people have hundreds of the 1070ti's and I want just one, so badly and can't get a single one.

  13. The 1920x drops a lot in hashrate when you go over 12 cores though. Even if you have the cache it's not ideal to use hyperthreading even for 4 of the 12 cores. I get about a 10% drop in hashrate when going from 12 to 16 cores on my 1920x.

  14. you do realise that when you factor in the cost of the rest of the system needed to run the Threadripper, the ROI is measured in years instead of months. hence why CPU mining is an after thought and there isn't a CPU and motherboard shortage. i agree in that making your system earn when idle, but when the ROI is such a long time, you're better off looking for money in your couch.

  15. A more optimized TR mining systems should probably have a single GT1030. a single stick of 8GB DDR4 and and a big 140mm Air Cooler.

The 4 sticks, 1080ti and water pump+fans is what is accounting for the 90w(probably 50w for the mobo) on top of the 150w for just the cpu. Then disable mobo io that you don't want (audio, extra usb, extra lan, no rgb mobo lights).

  16. How well could I do on my Dual Xeon X5675 @ 3.536Ghz, 48gb hexa-channel? So I have 12 x 256KB L2 & 24MB of L3? These were $85 for the pair, so not bad I guess? I have no idea where to begin on even knowing what to do, literally haven't had any interest… But if you explain how that would be cool in a video maybe?

  17. et tu, HardOCP?

just kidding – mining is the best thing to happen to PC gaming there I said it. If Samsung, Hynix etc weren't price fixing and manufacturing this memory shortage, there would be a lot more HBM2 and GDDR5 for GPUs, and more GPUs available. Sure mega-mining operations don't help the matter, but the market needs time to adjust to the increased demand, and China needs to crack down on the companies that are fixing memory prices. In a year every PC gamer will LOVE mining – take my word for it.
